The first few lines of Edward Robert Reading Bucknill's will


The headstone reads:
Sacred
to the memory of
EDWARD R.R. BUCKNILL
who departed this Life
March the 20th 1843
Aged 33 years
Also three children of the above E.R.R.
BUCKNILL and MATILDA his wife
who died in their infancy


I Edward Robert Reading Bucknill of Burton Latimer hereby give unto my dear wife all my Personal Property for her sole use and benefit and appoint her sole Executrix of this my last will I also appoint my friends one William Watts of Scaldwell and Mr. William Townsend of Bilton House near Rugby Guardians and I Trustees for my children dated this 19th day of March 1843 E. R. Bucknill . Witness William Gibbon , Henry Haddon.
In the Prerogative Court of Canterbury,
In the Goods of Mr Edward Robert Reading Bucknill deceased.
Appeared Personally William Gibbon of Kettering in the County of Northampton Surgeon and made Oath that he is a subscribed witness to the last will and testament of Edward Robert Reading Bucknill otherwise Edward Robert Bucknill late of Burton Latimer in the County of Northampton Farmer deceased the said will being hereto annexed and beginning thus “I Edward Robert Reading Bucknill of Burton Latimer “ending thus “one William Townsend of Bilton House near Rugby Guardians and Trustees for my children dated this 19th day of March 1843 and being thus subscribed “E. R. Bucknill“, And he lastly made Oath that the said deceased executed the said will on the day of the date thereof by signing his name at the foot end thereof in the presence of this deponent and Henry Haddon the order subscribed witnesses to the said will both of whom were present at the same time and that this deponent and the said Henry Haddon thereupon respectively attested and subscribed the said will in the presence of the said testator William Gibbon. On the 26th day of April 1843 the said William Gibbon was duly sworn to the truth of this Affidavit by virtue of the annexed Commission Before me Edward Craig Curate of the Parish of Burton Latimer Commissioner.
Proved in London 6th May 1843 before the Judge by the Oath of Matilda Bucknill Widow the Relict the sole Executrix to whom Administration was granted having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer.
