When searching for family names please bear in mind that there can be as many different spellings of the same name as the number of different rectors, curates, census enumerators, officials or semi-literate family members that were involved in writing them down.

We can ignore the obvious examples where an “e” or an “s” can be added e.g. Clark, Cook, Loak, Mead, Wood etc.

The names on the list below are a few examples of 19th and 20th century variations of Burton Latimer family names. There are infinite examples of variations from earlier documents. Even some of the examples below can be corrupted further.
