Burton Latimer Heritage Society is grateful to Barrie Mackay who transcribed this database from resources made available to him by Kettering Borough Council through Cameron Galloway, Jayne Blanchard, Amanda Buckingham and their colleagues at the Bereavement Services Office, Warren Hill.
The year 2005 has been chosen as a convenient cut-off point for the index as the following year Crematorium administration moved from hard-copy records (registers) to fully electronic.
It has became common practice for individuals to opt for cremation and have their ashes interred in a grave purchased in the Cemetery. The index reflects no distinction of such burials. In some cases where “[ashes]” appears in an entry, it is more than likely that these were added subsequent to the burial of somebody else, and the fact noted in the Cemetery location plans and purchase registers.

Whilst every effort has been made to provide an accurate record, if a visit to the cemetery is not possible, perceived inaccuracies can be checked with any of the family history programs and websites, in particular www.deceasedonline.com
Click here for another database which should enable relatives to locate graves without memorials by identifying the closest graves that do have them and counting, taking into account that there is usually 4ft between them. Unfortunately, this method doesn’t always work if the grave is at the end of a row or is near a path so be prepared for this eventuality.
After clicking on the initial below, click on
surnames in red and you will be taken to the memorial inscription (MI) page for the surname initial. Click on forenames in red to be taken to other pages where more information is held for this person.
