Alumasc provided the beer canister and a shooting stick, John Barran exhibited some of their garments, Coles Shoe Company showed shoes, Shaver gave 30-day-old chicks, She Products supplied mineral waters and Weetabix had a stand of their products. Canon O. Turner, Rector of Cranford, conducted the service and the symbolic gifts of harvest were given in the middle of the service. The traditional harvest loaf was baked by Mrs. R. W. Taylor and presented by her husband. The harvest celebration continues on Sunday with a family service. After that the giftswill be distributed amongst the elderly and needy |
