BLACKSMITH FIGHT
|
|||
George Buckby, blacksmith, was charged with violently assaulting his brother, John Buckby, also a blacksmith, by striking him on the arm with a piece of iron. After complainant had produced the weapon and given his evidence, the father of the brothers was called to give evidence, who said he lived at Burton Latimer, and was 78 years of age. His son John worked for him; he had ever done his duty by him, and he never had angry words with him. He never sent for his son George to come and interfere with the business; and when George took up the piece of iron to strike John, he said, O, George, don't strike your own brother. Fined £2 and costs 11s. Locked up in default. |
