The board or slate which the children in the front row are holding clearly says "Council School", but the other details had been cropped off when the photo reached us. The smock dresses worn by most of the girls place the date firmly in the "Railway Children" era of the early 1900s. Other than that, we have no further information.

There is an outside chance that somebody may have a copy of this in a family album, or be able to identify a distant ancestor, and if anyone can give us any further information we would be delighted to receive it, but at over 100 years between then and now, we aren't holding our breath!
