A presentation was made last night to Mr Fred Pentelow by his colleagues in the Kettering and District Head Teachers’ Association on his retirement as head of Burton Latimer Primary School .

The presentation of an electric shaver was made by Mr John Gamble, headmaster of Desborough Junior School .

Mr Pentelow had been headmaster of Burton Latimer Junior School since 1940 and has spent all his teaching life in Northamptonshire.

A special presentation will be made to Mr Pentelow by staff, children and parents on Thursday in recognition of his service.
