Membership

The museum is run independently by volunteers and the annual subscription from members is a very important contribution towards running costs.

Currently (2026) membership is £7 per person or £10 per couple at the same address.

Members receive a small discount to ticketed events. The Society issues four newsletters a year to its members; they carry news of the Society’s activities and articles of historical interest about the town and its past inhabitants.

You can join at the Museum or by completing the membership form and returning it to us. Payment by BACs or standing order is much appreciated. If you are a taxpayer, please would you consider filling in the Gift Aid form as well.  Contact us if you  have any questions.
