Newspaper Obituary and Funeral Reports

John Meads 2020

These newspaper extracts have been gleaned from a number of sources but mainly from the Find My Past website for which we offer our thanks.

They vary in quality according to age and the quality of their reproduction on the websites. Because of the enormous number of surnames included in the extracts only the name of the subject of the newspaper article is given. A trawl through all the extracts will often uncover relationships, occupations, addresses and circumstances of death which you may have been unaware of previously.

The list will be added to as new sources are published.

Our local newspaper, the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph, has only limited coverage i.e. 1900-1902 and 1904, 1939 and 1957 but the Northampton Mercury and its sister publcations cover a much longer period.

Where they exist, the articles will be linked to other pages on our website that may give further information.
