EMPLOYEES' DINNER. - Mr. William. Meads has recently opened a large boot factory in Alexandra-street, and to celebrate the occasion a sumptuous dinner was spread in the Britannia Band-room on Saturday evening. Upwards of eighty employees and friends were present. After the cloth had been removed, Mr S. C. F. Vernon was voted to the chair, and the usual toasts having been given, Mr. G. Whitely gave the toast of “Success to the firm." Mr. W. Meads, in responding, said he hoped the good feeling which existed would continue, and that they might have many similar gatherings. The Chairman also expressed his pleasure at being present, and wished every success to the firm. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing and songs until about midnight, when the party broke up, having spent a most enjoyable evening.
