A magistrate risked her life to foil an armed robbery at a bank in Burton Latimer. Pamela Mills JP is now due to be honoured by Northamptonshire police for her bravery. The incident took place on Thursday June 8 last year in Barclays Bank, A man was arrested and sentenced to a total of seven years imprisonment. Chief Constable Ted Crew said: "If it had not been for the prompt and courageous actions of Mrs Pamela Mills, despite the risk to her own safety, no doubt the full offence of robbery would have been committed.” |
