Northamptonshire Police Award

Pam Mills receives her award

The citation which Pam Mills received from the local association in January 1996 was only the first of a number of awards, presentation and features her bravery brought her.

In July 1996, over a year after the orginal incident, she received a letter from Northamptonshire Police, informing her that she had been nominated to receive the award of a Certificate of Appreciation, presented by the Chief Constable, Edward Crew. She was invited to bring along friends and family members.

The ceremony was held at the County Police Headquarters at Wootton Hall, Northampton, on August 20th, 1996. Where a number of people received similar certificates. The event was covered by the press and this in turn triggered a wider coverage in the national media.
