Doug Benford was one of the town's hairdressers in the 1950's and 1960's. Seated in the centre of the middle row he is holding the trophy awarded to the team following its success as the Town Cricket Club Winners in 1956. They had been Runners-Up in 1950, 1951 and 1954. Douglas Benford's father, Oliver, (more usually known by his second name - Jack) was a prominent Burtonian footballer in the 1930s. In the 1950s he organised many teams for charity and gala events.
