PRESENTATION AT BURTON LATIMER
Northampton Mercury 11 December 1953
In recognition of his services as secretary of Burton Latimer Racing Pigeon Club since its formation Mr Jack Smith was presented with an electric tea-server from colleagues at the club’s annual dinner at the Conservative Club, Burton Latimer
The gift was handed over by Mr Leo Corstin (president), who in proposing the toast of the club, said more prize-money had been won by members this year than ever before.
Replying, Mr Jack Warner said the club’s total of members was increasing every week, and there were still applications to be dealt with.
Mr Corstin announced that the member gaining most prizes throughout the year was Mr W. F. C. George. Next were Mr F. Drage and Mr S. Robinson. A concert followed at which Mr S. North was M.C.
Note: The club no longer exists. The trophy, pictured left, was handed over to the Heritage Museum by the late Sid Fuller, together with several other club artifacts in 2012
