At this stage little is known about Starmer's Transport Services except that it was active in 1939 but possibly didn't survive the Second World War. It was run by Mr. R. Starmer out of 167 High Street, which is the bungalow at the rear of the former Cottage Homes building, that was originally built as the 'isolation hospital' for children with infectious diseases. Besides his transport business, Mr. Starmer also sold used cars.
