T & J Wallis were flour millers operating from mills in Station Road (later to become Weetabix Ltd.) They ran their business using a variety of carts and wagons as can be seen in the photograph above. In 1877 a line was laid into the mill by Midland Railway. In the early 1900s a steam wagon was in use.

The following photographs are from the early 1900s:

A line was laid into Wallis's Mill - now Weetabix- in 1877 and Midland Railway trucks can be seen standing in front of the mill, together with the Shire horse that pulled the wagons on to the site because the bridge over the mill stream was not strong enough to carry a locomotive. The tall building in the background is still at the heart of the modern-day mill complex.
