BURTON GUNNER LOSES LIMB

Boulogne Military Hospital where Fred Stokes
was treated

BURTON GUNNER LOSES LIMB
Mr. and Mrs. S. Stokes, of Duke-street, Burton Latimer, have received a letter from the Rev. Percival M. Despres, Chaplain at Boulogne, with respect of their son, Gunner Fred Stokes, who is in the Dublin General Hospital, Boulogne. The writer says: "This afternoon I saw your son, Gunner F.W. Stokes, R.G.A., who is in this hospital, where he is receiving every care and attention. He wishes me to let you know he was wounded on July 7th. It all occurred quite suddenly; there had been no shelling where he had b yesterday, and is getting along splendidly. Although his condition is still serious, there is no need for you to be worried or anxious about him.
