Black Bridge Farm
The Hawkes family have a smallholding on a site at the end of Cranford Road where pigs are raised. Currently (2010) planning permission is sought to develop a commercial and industrial waste management facility on the site. The facility will deal with 50,000 tonnes of commercial and industrial waste each year. Energy produced from the process will be harnessed in the form of electricity at a rate sufficient to power around 12,500 homes each year.
