Barry Noble was born in Burton Latimer at the Waggon and Horses pub on 10th September 1943. Barry's Grandad, Cecil Buckby, was its landlord and Gran Winifred was part of Burton's Miller family. Barry's mother was Burton girl Joan Buckby who had been a Carnival queen attendant in 1935. Barry went to the Church School and also sang in the church choir. In later life, as a professional singer, he appeared in over 20 TV shows worldwide and had a successful record "I've Got My Eyes on You" on EMI Columbia Records. He also represented the UK in 1970 at the Yugoslavian Song Festival at Split, where he came second followed by the Sopot International Song Festival in Poland at which Joan Baez also sang. These led to many of his TV appearances.
