On five acres of land in Kettering Road, just prior to the railway bridge (now the A14 roundabout), Messrs Butlin and Turner in the 1940s worked a plot growing, crops, potatoes, other vegetables and fruit for human consumption. In later years Butlin and Turner were well known as rose growers supplying dry-rooted rose bushes. This farm was detailed in the Wartime Survey in 1943 |
