Regent Road was constructed on the site which was, for many years, the market garden of Harry Cole. On this land Mr Cole kept pigs, grew potatoes, other vegetables, fruit (there was a small orchard) and flowers. Bouquets, wreaths, etc were supplied to customer's requirements. The Wartime Survey of 1941 indicates that two full time and one part time worker were employed. This farm was detailed in the Wartime Survey in 1941 |
